lyrics
Tie me wind me, up into a ball
My threads are dangling, they trip me make me fall
Sometimes I unravel
Take my hand and I’ll follow
Shake me, cake me, do with me what you will
For now I’m safely tucked up into a ball
I’m cocooned by your silk
I’m cocooned in the warmth of your silk
For I do believe in the beauty that we seek
Patiently I’ll wait out the winter storms
Till the skies are brighter, the weather nice and warm
Then I’ll rise up, break from the threads that I have adorned
For the morning brings new stories that I haven’t yet explored
Sometimes I unravel
Take my hand and I’ll follow
A spooky, melancholy and beautiful album, with some absolutely haunting instrumental sections and vocal harmonies, plus some really interesting prog rhythms. I had this record playing on repeat for a long time. Myths and Monsters
Scottish harpist and singer Rachel Newton brings an innovative, intensely emotional touch to traditional music on this dreamy LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 17, 2020
The Alabama duo's fifth album exults in dusty Americana, showcasing rich vocal harmonies alongside blissful folk instrumentation. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
This is absolute genius. Each song has its own unique mood, but what they all have in common is that they take their time, allowing the lush, patient, dazzlingly imaginative arrangements to gradually blossom. There are a dizzying variety of instrumental textures, pleasure and wonderment around every turn. I'm getting hints of Will Oldham circa "Arise Therefore," though that album is much more spare. Proof that "experimental" doesn't necessarily mean noisy. Joe Madden
