lyrics
Thou shalt not grow old as we are left to grow old
Age shall not weary you nor the years condemn
At the going down of the sun
And in the mornings we shall remember them
Eliza Harora until the day dawns and the shadows fled
Sweet is the fragrance of remembrance
Rock of ages, cleft for me
Let me hide myself in thee
Loved in life and treasured in death
A beautiful memory is all that we have left
Oh for a touch of that vanished hand
And a sound of that voice which is silenced now
Eliza Harora until the day dawns and the shadow fled
Sweet is the fragrance of remembrance
Rock of ages, cleft for me
Let me hide my self in thee
A spooky, melancholy and beautiful album, with some absolutely haunting instrumental sections and vocal harmonies, plus some really interesting prog rhythms. I had this record playing on repeat for a long time. Myths and Monsters
Scottish harpist and singer Rachel Newton brings an innovative, intensely emotional touch to traditional music on this dreamy LP. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 17, 2020
The Alabama duo's fifth album exults in dusty Americana, showcasing rich vocal harmonies alongside blissful folk instrumentation. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 31, 2024
This is absolute genius. Each song has its own unique mood, but what they all have in common is that they take their time, allowing the lush, patient, dazzlingly imaginative arrangements to gradually blossom. There are a dizzying variety of instrumental textures, pleasure and wonderment around every turn. I'm getting hints of Will Oldham circa "Arise Therefore," though that album is much more spare. Proof that "experimental" doesn't necessarily mean noisy. Joe Madden
