about

By the time Emma Gatrill released her debut solo album in the spring of 2012, she’d already played clarinet in Laura Marling’s band on Glastonbury’s prestigious Pyramid stage, made up part of Broken Social Scene’s horn section on a run of UK dates and toured all over Europe as part of Sons of Noel and Adrian.

Miraculously she found time to write an LP of her own on a wholly different instrument – the harp. The rich grandeur of her chosen accompaniment turned out to be the perfect foil to the beautiful fragility of her voice. Soon afterwards, her debut was released on Willkommen Records; critics and listeners alike were enchanted and compared her to the likes of Vashti Bunyan, Joni Mitchell and Bjork.
